Hello Spartan family!  It is my honor and privilege to serve as the PROUD Principal of East Ridge Middle School for the 24-25 school year.  Throughout my career, I have held various roles, such as a teacher, athletic director, administrative dean, AVID coordinator, and Assistant Principal, before assuming my current position as Principal of East Ridge Middle School.

I attended the University of Central Florida in 1999, where I received a Bachelor of Science in Education. In 2005, I went on to receive a Master of Science in Educational Leadership at Nova Southeastern University. I am blessed to be the husband to an amazing wife, Kelly, and the father of two wonderful boys, Levi and Asher. They are the love of my life and my world.

It is my privilege to lead the talented teachers and students here at East Ridge Middle School. Our goal is to ensure that all students acquire the lifelong knowledge, skills, and values needed to make great contributions to their community and wherever life takes them. Thank you for trusting us with your children.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am here to serve you. I am truly honored to be a part of the East Ridge Middle School family, and I am excited to work with each and every one of you. Together, we will make the school year memorable and successful for all.

Let’s Go Spartans!

Mrs. Woods was born and raised in Knoxville, TN.  She attended the University of Tennessee, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 2001 and a Master’s Degree in Education in 2003.  She earned a second Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2023.

After graduating from UT, Mrs. Woods moved to Louisville, KY, where she taught 5th grade Math and Language Arts.  She was instrumental in helping create blueprints and pacing guides for the 5th-grade Math curriculum for her school district.

In 2007, she moved to Florida, continuing her teaching career in Lake County at Windy Hill Middle School as a 6th grade Math teacher.  Years later, she stepped out of the classroom to become a Florida Standards Coach.  This allowed her to work with teachers to ensure that standards were taught to the correct depth of knowledge.

In 2018, Mrs. Woods transitioned to the role of Literacy Coach, where she worked with teachers to enhance their students' reading and writing skills.  During her time as Literacy Coach, Mrs. Woods also took on other responsibilities and roles.  One of these roles was AVID Coordinator.  Through the collaborative efforts of the entire team and her dedication, Windy Hill Middle was honored as the second middle school in Lake County to receive AVID National Demonstration status.

She is excited to be a part of East Ridge Middle School and work alongside the fantastic faculty and staff.

Mrs. Everett grew up in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.  She attended the University of Central Florida in 2000 and received a Bachelor of Science in Health Science.  In 2006, she received a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from National-Louis University.

After graduating from UCF in 2004, Mrs. Everett began her teaching career at Colonial High School in Orlando, Florida. During her nine years at Colonial High School, she taught 9th-12th grade, became the AVID Site Coordinator, and the Academic and Attendance Dean.

In 2013, Mrs. Everett went to work at the District Office in Orange County as the AVID District Coordinator overseeing the implementation of AVID in the middle and high schools.

In 2015, Mrs. Everett joined the Professional Learning and Leadership Development Department in Lake County as a District Instructional Coach.

Mrs. Everett is excited and feels honored to be an Assistant Principal and to work alongside the hardworking faculty and staff at East Ridge Middle School.

Mr. Williams is an experienced educator with an extensive background. Raised in Tampa, Florida, he graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2006 with a bachelor's in Sports and Fitness. He began his teaching career in St. Lucie County at Westwood High School.

In 2009, Mr. Williams transitioned to Orange County, teaching Intensive Math, Algebra 1, and Geometry at Wekiva High School. During this time, he pursued a Master's in Educational Leadership and later gained experience as an Instructional Dean in the district. In 2015, he joined Lake County as a 6th-grade math and physical education teacher at Gray Middle School.

In 2021, Mr. Williams accepted the Grades 3-5 Math/Science Coach position at Leesburg Elementary, helping the school progress from a "D" to a "C" rating. This success led him back to Gray Middle as an Instructional Dean, where he utilized his math expertise to create intervention cycles for grades 6-8.

Mr. Williams is a forward-thinking and strategic leader who is thrilled to be part of the outstanding team at East Ridge Middle School and proud to be a Spartan.
